IT’S MUCH TOO BEAUTIFUL TO STAY INDOORS
Hi there, my name is Monika Fidler. I’m a photographer and nature enthusiast with a passion for photographing animals in the wild. I live along the Front Range in Colorado where the saying “the mountains are calling” resonates strongly in my soul each day. I am captivated by their majesty and fascinated by the wildlife that live in these awe-inspiring natural skyscrapers.
My love for photography began as a teenager with a classic film camera and developing my own photographs in a darkroom. I learned the art through the fundamentals and later evolved into creating modern digital photography. I love capturing the beauty of life and blending exquisite landscapes with animals in their natural habitat.
Birds start chirping, sun rays burst forth over the horizon, and a new day dawns. As light sweeps in, the majestic beauty and wonders of the natural Earth illuminate, captivating my soul and igniting a sense of awe, pondering how all of this was created. We live on a planet with an estimated 8 million different types of species, each one imprinted by the hand of the divine and given the precious breath of life. Each one is a marvel of creation. I walk through nature like an art lover walks through a museum, pausing to observe each piece - to appreciate, to learn, to be inspired, to try through my limited human capacity - to understand.
As people, we are made in the image and likeness of God, our creator, (Genesis 1:26) and that spirit of creativity resides in each of us. For me, creativity is expressed through photography. I walk among nature with a camera, pausing at each captivating scene and taking a photo - to capture the scene, appreciate it up close, and hone in on details that may otherwise be elusive. Through photos I create art, in one sense to imitate my creator, in another way, to mirror back to Him the majesty of His creation. I draw closer to Him when I photograph in the wilderness and through these experiences, my love for life on this planet deepens. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them (1 John 4:16) - and in nature one can aspire to such great heights.
